Steamboat Lake, August 24, 2013

Steamboat was gorgeous! We drove up Saturday morning and stayed for just the one night. It was a long drive for a short weekend but we had a great time nonetheless. The Pereas & Degraws are some of the nicest people and so accommodating.

We played some Cards Against Humanity and enjoyed the 5th Wheel for some late night fun playing "The Game" with the Ferreras and Thomas Gillis.

Austin missed out on the fun this trip due to Baseball. We'll have to come back :)

At just 2 months old, Charley Rae was such a camper! She had a great trip!

Red Feather Camping, July 20, 2013

Took the 5th Wheel to Brian and Sophie's cabin in Red Feather! When we arrived at 10:30 on Saturday, it was much hotter than expected.  Adam helped Brian in the cabin for awhile. The Boys were itching to take a ride on the 4 wheelers.  After a break from working and a ride, the rain caught us off guard. It turned to hail and then quit, leaving a gorgeous afternoon of beersbee and fun. Boys couldn't get enough of the 4 wheelers. We had a great time with Brian & Sophie, Jason, Carrie & Rylee and Nash, Heidi & Jaelyn.  After dinner we sat around the campfire and had fun playing old drinking games. 

After Sunday breakfast, we all tried out Brian's birthday present, a new 22.  Adam let both of the boys shoot a couple shots. They seemed to like it. It was pretty sweet watching the boys sit in Adam's lap and learn how to aim and shoot.

Headed back down after 1:00!  Great weekend!

Lake McConaughy, June 14, 2013

Spent the weekend at Lake McCounaughy with the Muir family. 

As we got there Friday afternoon, I had to take a deep breath because it wasn't what I expected.  I had heard so many great things about Lake McConaughy and this wasn't it.  But, we parked the 5th wheel (twice) and got settled, things were definitely looking up!

The beach was just a short walk down the sandy hill and the boys were already having a blast.  Carrie and Jason setup their motor home right next to us and Amy, Jason and the boys pitched their tent.
Marilyn & Roy and Mike & Deanna were already there.

We had a great weekend of boating and playing in the water! 

Mom and Dad's Driveway, May 24, 2013

We were babysitting Cael that night and thought it would be fun to spend the night in the 5th wheel. We were headed to mom & dad's the next morning anyway for a day at the lake so we figured, why not park it in the driveway! We'll be that much closer to our destination in the morning. Biggest mistake was letting Chloe join us.  Didn't get much sleep, but fun nonetheless!  Home Sweet Home...

 

Red Feather "Boy's Trip," September 15, 2012

Mom is in Palisade for Wine Weekend, so boys head to Red Feather with the 5th Wheel to camp at Brian and Sophie's cabin. Good thing mom wasn't there to watch dad get the 5th wheel down the driveway!

Seminoe Reservoir, Labor Day Weekend 2012

We joined the Silver's and their families in Seminoe, WY for Labor Day Weekend. We had a great time boating and camping. The weather was great aside from one storm that stuck us in the Silvers' 5th wheel for some drinking games.  Best day included a white sand beach and some baseball!!

Estes Park, August 18, 2012

We asked Jason and Carrie to accompany us on our first weekend in the 5th wheel. Carrie found a place in Estes on short notice. As we arrived, we all did a double take as we realized we were vacationing in a dirt parking lot. We made the best of it and got settled into our spot, grabbed some beers in a small cooler and headed to the "heated" pool. We dipped our toes and realized that the pool was heated only by the sunshine and it was not THAT warm in the mountains of Estes Park. As the kids' lips turned purple and their teeth began to chatter, we decided to head to the free putt-putt course, played some football, & visited the park. Carrie needed to put Blake down for a nap, so we walked the kids to the local bar/restaurant and had some pizza and beers. The boys enjoyed the game of washers available on the patio. On our way back to the camp spot we stopped for some horseshoes.

We had dinner in the 5th wheel and danced, played games and enjoyed the evening
with the kids. Austin and Rylee had vocal night in the 5th wheel. Rylee was up early, "The sun is up Auntie Amber!"

As we packed to head out, we were attempting to empty the black tank for the very first time. I was looking at the pipes under the 5th wheel with the manual in hand, an older gentleman walked by and noticed my perplexed look. He asked "Are you reading a manual?" I explained that this was our first trip in our new camper and I wanted to make sure we did this right. He explained that if we needed anything, anyone around us would be more than willing to help. It was that point in time that we realized we were part of a club now, a club of people that enjoy the outdoors. He continued to tell us about the cross-country trip in their motorhome chasing ball parks.

Before heading out on Sunday we stopped by the Estes Park Fun Center for some more putt-putt, slides, rides and lunch. It was a great way to break in the 5th wheel and an unforgettable trip with family!
